MOD is informal name of tapeless video format used by the JVC (MOD and TOD) and Panasonic (MOD only) in some models of digital camcorders. The format name specifies the extension of media file. The MOD extension is exclusively used in standard definition video files. MOD is stored in MPEG-2 program stream container files with MOD extension. Some camcorders which use the MOD file format are:
